About Sustainable Bakewell
What is Sustainable Bakewell?
We are a Bakewell based organisation composed of Bakewell residents. We have as our primary focus the supporting and encouraging of Sustainable Lifestyles, and Sustainable Work Practices within the Bakewell area, and we recognise that Bakewell is within the Peak District National park.
A Community Interest Company
Sustainable Bakewell is a Community Interest Company (CIC). These organisations are a new form of limited company created by the government about 3 years ago. CIC’s are companies that have been created to support a community interest, and cannot have profit, in the conventional sense, as a motivating principle.
Next Steps
Following this Feasibility Study, of which this initial, benchmark Research is a primary component, there will be a launch of Sustainable Bakewell, with which everyone who lives and works in Bakewell can participate over the next year or so. Watch this space!
